The Emerald Bay Golf Club, one of the premiere courses in northwest Florida, has just completed a major renovation of their championship golf course by famed course designer Bob Cupp, the original designer of the Emerald Bay course and one of the premiere golf course architects in the country. Mr. Cupp, in conjunction with Southeastern Golf, a world class golf course construction company, has transformed the Emerald Bay golf course into a world-class golfing facility.
Bob Cupp’s career in golf course design has spanned more than forty years. He served as senior designer for Jack Nicklaus for more than 15 years before starting his own firm in 1984. Since that time, his courses have hosted over 50 national and international tournaments, including seven major championships. In 1992, Golf World named Bob the first ever Golf Architect of the Year.
Golf Digest and Golf Magazine have selected his work as the best in the nation no less than four times and runner up 6 times. Bob has numerous courses on various Top 100 course lists. Southeastern Golf is one of the premiere golf course construction companies in the country with completed projects including Medina Country Club, Atlanta Athletic Club and the Sea Island Ocean Forest Course. We have been very impressed with the quality of work and professionalism exhibited by Southeastern Golf on the Emerald Bay renovation.
he Emerald Bay course renovation includes new and enlarged greens and tee boxes, new bunkers, new cart paths, several new water features and bridges as well as enhanced and additional practice facilities. The greens are significantly larger with TifEagle Ultra Dwarf Bermudagrass which provides a very dense surface for improved putting speed and consistency.
The Emerald Bay Golf Course is open to the public but offers the same level of service as exclusive private courses.
