The Emerald Bay Golf Club, one of the premiere courses in northwest Florida, is NOW OPEN after recently completing a major renovation by famed golf course architect Bob Cupp. His career in golf course design has spanned more than forty years. He served as senior designer for Jack Nicklaus for more than 15 years before starting his own firm in 1984. Since that time, his courses have hosted over 50 national and international tournaments, including seven major championships. In 1992, Golf World named Mr. Cupp the first ever Golf Architect of the Year. Golf Digest and Golf Magazine have selected his work as the best in the nation four times and runner up 6 times. Mr. Cupp has numerous courses on various Top 100 course lists.

On some holes, the player works hard just to get to the green in regulation, yet the next hole, the challenge is ball placement off the tee and finesse to the hole. The golf course renovations by Bob Cupp and Southeastern Golf, a distinguished golf course construction company, include:

Greens are significantly larger with TifEagle Ultra Dwarf Bermuda grass which provides a very dense surface for improved putting speed and consistency
• NEW BUNKERS
• NEW CART PATHS
• SEVERAL NEW WATER FEATURES AND BRIDGES
• ENHANCED AND ADDITIONAL PRACTICE FACILITIES

“Emerald Bay has a distinctive motif, landforms that are reminiscent of older courses, and set in the pines with the familiar water hazards common to coastal areas. But that is only the visual part. The course reopened to the public on Friday, August 1st and will have its GRAND OPENING PARTY on Thursday, September 18th at 5:30 p.m. at the Emerald Bay clubhouse.
